A gift to yourself

A retreat is a gift to yourself. An opportunity to deepen your connection with yourself through movement and stillness, dance and yoga. You are guided into presence, where life becomes richer and the senses more alive. You get to rest, relax and fill up with joy, warmth and community. Everything is arranged so that your experience will be as rich and nourishing as possible. The place, the food, the surroundings and the premises – everything to add a golden edge to your days. Welcome to enjoy and explore, both inside and outside, with us!

Lets Step In....

This weekend you will have the possibility to explore yourself through the Elements of Nature. The wonderful  principles of Nia will guide us into a beautiful journey of self discovery and community. We will invite the lovely nature setting into our practice. You will get in touch with your joy of movement, vitality and the experience of inner stillness. Moments of Meditation and Yoga will blend together with Nia to harmonize our weekend.

Nia is a holistic form of movement that combines movements from Yoga, Tai Chi, Dance and Martial Arts. A dynamic and life-affirming meeting between East and West to inspiring music. The heart of Nia is comfort and joy of movement. Everyone can join in. You adapt the movements so that they are based on your body and your needs. The movements in Nia open up for you to be in touch with all that you are!

The yoga we will perform together is inspired by Yin Yoga and Yoga Restorative. It will be a soft, relaxing yoga where you will have the opportunity to gently meet yourself. This weekend is suitable for everyone, regardless of previous experience with movement, yoga or singing. You don't need any prior knowledge. Just come as you are.

Jenny Wessel

Jenny is one of the founders of Nia Movement in Gothenburg. There she shares powerful and playful Nia sessions, Yin Yoga and Yoga Somatics. Jenny is a Cert Nia Black Belt Instructor and 5 Stages Instructor. Movement has always been an obvious part of her life and when she met the Nia movement form, she immediately fell in love. Now she has worked with Nia for 20 years. Jenny has a great passion for voice and singing. She has a voice with a strong ability to touch people's hearts. She also holds themed classes in Voice and Movement and also leads Mantra singing at Nia Movement.

“When I found Nia, I really felt that I came home. An experience of full contact with my whole self as a person. Both my physical body, my thoughts, my emotions and my soul landed in a wonderful union. Nia allows me to be in my greatness, in my power, in my playfulness, in my vulnerability. In my whole self.”

Emma Stålvik

“Nia is one of my great sources of joy in life and contact with myself. In Nia I get an outlet for my creativity, my power and passion for music and movement. Nia is a journey that only goes deeper and deeper. The journey to embrace All I Am. To be who I am.”

Britta von Tagen (Idaho, USA)

Britta has been teaching Nia since 1995. She teaches the first three levels of Nia training; White, Green and Blue Belts worldwide. She brings the sacred art of storytelling to all of her Nia classes as a way for people to go deeper into their imagination and creative process of life.

When Britta is not traveling she has been learning the fine art of simple carpentry as well as teaching Nia to children and Nia in the water. If Britta is not teaching at her studio, you will find her hiking in the mountains and soaking in the natural hot springs.
